Artificial Intelligence in Applications

Artificial Intelligence is the new wave in technology in the current Industry. Everyone is just exploring their legacy systems to integrate them with Artificial Intelligence and finding out how and where it can be used.
We have dig out some of the possible applications where Artificial Intelligence has found its place. Besides these applications there are many more uses of Artificial Intelligence may not be covered here.

1 . Social Networks Analysis

The social media platforms like LINKEDIN,FACEBOOK, PINTEREST and many others are making use of Artificial Intelligence to offer a better perspective to the users. LinkedIn is using machine learning algorithms to offer better jobs to the candidates. Linkedin uses this to give scores to the candidates based on their profile which helps hiring companies to find suitable candidate. Pinterest can identiy object recognition, due to which users see only what is relevant to them. Facebook has developed facial recognition tool to make it easier to tag people.

2. Image and Graph Analytics

Artificial Intelligence technology has enabled engineers to come up with a software that can recognize and describe the content in photos and videos. Previously, image recognition was limited to recognizing discrete objects in an image. Right from the safety features in cars that detect large objects to programs that assist the visually impaired, the benefits of image recognition are making new waves.Machine learning on graphs is an important task with applications ranging from drug design to friendship recommendation in social networks.

3.  Internet of Things

The Internet of Things is getting smarter with help Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence is playing a major role in IoT Appplications and Deployments. Major vendors of IoT platform software now offer integrated Artificial Intelligence capabilities such as machine learning-based analytics.Artificial Intelligence Technology, brings the ability to automatically identify patterns and detect anomalies in the data that smart sensors and devices generate—information such as temperature, pressure, humidity, air quality, vibration, and sound. AI applications for IoT enable companies to avoid unplanned downtime, increase operating efficiency, spawn new products and services, and enhance risk management.

4. Virtual Personal Assistance

A virtual assistant is an application program that understands natural language voice commands and completes tasks for the user. Popular virtual assistants currently include Amazon Alexa, Apple’s Siri, Google Now and Microsoft’s Cortana — the digital assistant built into Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10. As the end user interacts with a virtual assistant, the Artificial Intelligence programming uses sophisticated algorithms to learn from data input and become better at predicting the end user’s needs.

5. Natural Language Processing

NLP is helping the industries to the build those systems that can understand our language which we speak. It is as subset of Artificial Intelligence. It helps computers communicate with humans in their own language and scales other language-related tasks. For example, NLP makes it possible for computers to read text, hear speech, interpret it, measure sentiment and determine which parts are important.

6. Deep Learning

Deep learning is a machine learning technique that teaches computers to do what comes naturally to humans: learn by example. … In deep learning, a computer model learns to perform classification tasks directly from images, text, or sound.
Deep learning is a subset of machine learning, and machine learning is a subset of Artificial Intelligence, which is an umbrella term for any computer program that does something smart.
Deep learning can be used to use the objects and their context within the photograph to color the image, much like a human operator might approach the problem. Other uses of Deep Learning are in automatic handwriting generation, character text recognition, automatic machine translation and many more application areas are there.

7. Simulation Modeling

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere now . Although Artificial Intelligence and Simulation are both concerned with the development and use of models, they have evolved mostly independent . Now, the potential contributions of Artificial Intelligence to the development and application of simulation models are being considered more widely. Artificial Intelligence techniques can play a variety of roles in the simulation process, including:

  • Knowledge representation in a model
  • Decision making within a simulation
  • Rapid prototyping of models
  • Data analysis of simulator-generated outputs
  • Model modification and maintenance.

8. Machine Learning and Translation

One of the most widely-discussed advances has been the use of Artificial Intelligence in translation. There’s every chance you’ve already seen Artificial Intelligence translation in action, whether on your Facebook feed or through browsing international pages in Google. Microsoft has recently developed its own Translator app, which not only translates text, but also speech, images, and street signs. Microsoft’s big breakthrough with this app is the fact that Translator can run offline, which has ideal real-world advantages for those traveling in areas with limited connectivity.

Facebook’s translation system underwent a major overhaul last summer, introducing Artificial Intelligence as its primary method.

9. Visualization

Artificial Intelligence can be useful in data visualization today and has the potential to grow more in the years to come. Visual Analytics is the combination of Artificial Intelligence Software with data visualization where a human enters into a discourse with a software system about some data, querying it and receiving results back in visual form, so as to accomplish a goal be it answering the question or something else.

10. Robotics

Artificial Intelligence is the most exciting field in robotics. It’s certainly the most controversial also since Everybody agrees that a robot can work in an assembly line, but there’s no consensus on whether a robot can ever be intelligent. Robotics have made a lot of progress with more limited Artificial Intelligence. Today’s Artificial Intelligence machines can replicate some specific elements of intellectual ability. Robots will certainly play a larger role in our daily lives in the future. In the coming decades, robots will gradually move out of the industrial and scientific worlds and into daily life.

So we got to read about some of the Applications where Artificial Intelligence is making it mark and there are even more applications Artificial Intelligence is spreading.
